Melbourne Harmony
Harmony with our neighbours - Harmony with the earth
Melbourne's multi-faith, multi-cultural, environmental festival Sunday March 15 2009
A great interfaith, multicultural and environmental celebration with loads of music, mixing, fun and food for all the family. There will be soccer competitions, art exhibitions, music and dance, ethnic foods, cultural and interfaith stalls together with an environmental display - a toast to a great afternoon out.
Melbourne has become a magnet for people from around the world seeking to emigrate to Australia. Melbourne now accepts more migrants than any other Australian city and there will soon be more people living in Melbourne than in any other Australian city. We hope all of Melbourne's old and new residents will celebrate our city's diverse cultures and beliefs.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Trams, buses, walking, bikes. Consider our environment and try to avoid driving if possible!
HOW MUCH?:
There is no entry fee and everyone from our wonderful, rich and diverse Victorian community is welcome.
Organised by the Faiths Community Forum of Victoria, the Jewish Chrisitan Muslim Association of Australia, Jewish Aid Australia, GreenFaith Australia, City of Port Philip and other organisations. The festival and/or website are supported by Yarra Trams, the City of Port Philip, the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Australia Facts and a Federal 'Living in Harmony' grant. This is a Pre-Parliament event for the Parliament of World Religions coming to Melbourne this December.
